Happiness for me is being involved in a creative process. Although my lifelong love of art has inspired me to pursue many media, I have been primarily a printmaker since 1990.

I am attracted to printmaking because of the diversity of techniques and materials. Although printmaking requires a mastery of technique, there is always the element of spontaneity. No matter how well planned a project may be, I can never be sure of the result until the plate is finally printed.

My usual printmaking techniques are collographs, linocuts, monoprints, monotypes, and mezzotint etchings. Although I have made other types of prints, I tend to favor these four. The differences in the techniques also inspire different images. For instance, I prefer mezzotint etchings for still-life objects, and collographs for abstracts. I find monoprints and monotypes are great techniques for a number of subjects, both abstract and figurative. I have also used linocuts for figurative work, but I've barely scratched that surface.

My prints have been exhibited across the United States as well as in Ireland and Amsterdam. My work is in the collections of the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, and the University of California, Santa Cruz, as well as numerous private collections.
